Terms of use

These terms apply when you use Falls Atlas. By browsing this website, you agree to them. Last updated October 21, 2026.

Information for planning, not a guarantee

Falls Atlas is a free, independent guide to waterfalls in the Philippines. We work to keep listings accurate, but conditions on the ground change often. Access roads close, trails wash out, guide rules and entrance fees change, and falls can be unsafe after heavy rain. A listing here is a starting point for your own research, not a promise that a site is open, safe or reachable on the day you visit.

Distances on this site are straight-line estimates, not driving or walking distances. Heights, difficulty ratings and waterfall types are descriptive and can differ from local signs or other guidebooks. Confirm current conditions with local tourism offices, barangay officials or licensed guides before you travel.

Safety

Visiting a waterfall can involve real risk, including slippery rock, strong currents, flash floods, falling debris and remote terrain without mobile signal. You are responsible for your own safety and for the safety of anyone you travel with. Use appropriate footwear, hire a local guide where one is required or recommended, follow closures and warnings, and turn back if conditions are not in your favour. The information on this site is not a substitute for training, local advice or your own judgement.

Respect for local communities

Many falls sit on private land, ancestral domain or protected areas. Entry may depend on the consent of the community, a guide fee or a local ordinance. Respect these rules, leave no trace, and do not rely on this site to justify access that local people have not granted.

Acceptable use

You may read, link to and share this site for personal, non-commercial use. You may not scrape it at scale, copy large parts of it into another product, misrepresent it as your own work, or use it to harass guides, landowners or tourism staff. Automated access that degrades the site for other visitors may be blocked.

Content and intellectual property

Listings, guides and page copy on Falls Atlas are our own work unless stated otherwise, and they are protected by copyright. Photographs remain the property of their photographers and are used under the licences recorded on the credits page. If you want to reuse a photo, check its licence and credit the photographer as that page describes. To request reuse of our written content, contact us first.

Third-party links

Some pages link to or embed services run by other organisations, such as OpenStreetMap. We do not control those services and are not responsible for their content, availability or privacy practices. Your use of a third-party service is governed by that organisation's own terms.

Corrections and feedback

We welcome corrections, additions and photo contributions. By sending us a correction, suggestion or original photo, you confirm that you have the right to share it and you allow us to use it on the site with credit. We may edit submissions for length, clarity and house style, and we are not obliged to publish any submission. Send them through the contact page.

Limitation of liability

This site is provided as it is and as available. To the extent the law allows, Falls Atlas and its contributors are not liable for loss, injury, damage or expense arising from reliance on this site, from a visit to a place described on it, or from the site being unavailable. Nothing in these terms limits rights you have under Philippine law that cannot be excluded.

Privacy

How we handle data and cookies is described in our privacy policy, which forms part of these terms.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms as the site changes. The date at the top of this page shows the latest revision, and continuing to use the site after a change means you accept the updated terms. These terms are governed by the laws of the Philippines.
